Outreach
One-to-One Holiday Outreach Mentoring Programme
At Life Shed, we provide a bespoke one-to-one holiday outreach programme designed to support and engage young people during the school holidays. Our full-day sessions (typically 9:00am–3:00pm) are individually tailored to each young person’s interests, needs, and goals, ensuring a personalised and positive experience. Each child or young person is matched with their own dedicated mentor, creating a safe, supportive, and consistent environment where they can build confidence, develop life skills, and most importantly — have fun!
What to expect:
Our mentoring days are filled with enriching activities that encourage exploration, learning, and enjoyment. Depending on each young person’s preferences, activities may include:
- Visits to animal parks and local attractions
- Beach and swimming trips
- Outdoor adventures at our beautiful 34-acre woodland site
- Creative and sensory activities
- Opportunities to try new and unfamiliar experiences in a safe, structured way

Supporting Young People with SEND
Life Shed is proud to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We understand that every young person is unique, and we tailor each session to their individual abilities, communication styles, and sensory preferences. Our one-to-one mentoring model means that every young person is matched with a mentor who can provide consistent, personalised support throughout the day. This helps build trust, confidence, and a sense of security — allowing each child to enjoy their day fully. Our mentors are experienced in supporting a wide range of needs, including autism, ADHD, social and emotional challenges, and learning differences. They use flexible approaches to ensure each activity is adapted to suit the child’s pace, comfort level, and interests. Above all, we aim to create a safe, inclusive, and joyful environment where every young person can grow, explore, and have fun — in their own way and at their own pace.
Our holiday outreach sessions offer much more than just a day out — it’s an opportunity for young people to thrive, connect, and discover new strengths in a caring and engaging environment.
